Leading contender for the APC flagbearer ticket, Dr. Samura Matthew Wilson Kamara today entered his home district of Karene to continue with his nationwide COVID 19 support and sensitization to grassroot supporters of his party and other vulnerable groups and individuals.
Kamakwei, the District Headquarters was agog with activity following the triumphant entry of a beloved son whom Sierra Leoneans have pined their hopes on for a brighter future. The prevailing economic and political climate keeps having a toll on the lives of ordinary Sierra Leoneans as many citizens today find it very hard to afford their daily sustenance. Apparently unhappy with the current state of affairs, a kind hearted Dr. Samura Kamara designed a COVID-19 relief package in the form cash grants, targeting all 14 districts of Sierra Leone.

extolled the leadership attributes of Dr Samura Kamara which she said includes, perseverance and kindness. “Because of the love Dr. Samura has for the women, on behalf of the women in the district I publicly endorse Dr. Samura Kamara for the flagbearer of party come 2023” Other speakers like the acting APC district Chairman , Dr. Adikalie Sesay assured Dr. Samura of his fullest support in his bid to become the next President of Sierra Leone. “We are here for you, We are with you and We are going with you” he said.
Former Agriculture Minister and 2018 flagbearer aspirant, Dr Joseph Sam Sesay who is now a prominent member of the Samura Kamara campaign team also explained his decision to throw his support behind his former colleague Minister whom he described as the fittest man to turn round the economy of Sierra Leone.
This country is in dire need of someone like him. Dr. Samura is a goal scorer and has a clean slate” he maintained and called on the people of Karene District to unreservedly support Dr. Samura Kamara.
In his address, Dr Samura Kamara appealed to members of the APC party in Karene to remain united against a common enemy and said one of his priority projects (when he becomes president) will be the Tomparay – Kambia road. He concluded by calling for unity and peace within the APC party. “As to date, all the other flag bearers contenders are my good friends”
The event was climaxed by the distribution of cash grants to selected beneficiary groups.
Earlier on his way to Kamakwei, Dr. Samura Kamara and his campaign team observed Juma Prayers at the central Masjid of Rokulan, a prominent town in Karene District.
at Rokulan, Dr. Samura Kamara admonished worshippers to espouse the virtues of unity and togetherness for the progress of their community.
He also reminded them of the need to come out and register massively ahead of the 2023 elections as a sure way to bring back the APC party to power.
